Wells of Hope

by Mar 30, 2026

At the core of a thriving nation is the health and safety of its people. We believe that a lively, prosperous Malawi is only possible when every family has easy access to their most basic needs. For many rural communities, the journey toward self-reliance begins with a single, essential resource, clean water.

Through the Wells of Hope project, SAFI is turning this vision into a reality. We are dedicated to transforming the landscape of our country, one village at a time, by eliminating the burden of water scarcity and the threat of waterborne diseases.

Water is the lifeline of agriculture and family health. Over the years, our commitment has taken us across the country, where we have successfully drilled 173 boreholes. This initiative has provided a reliable source of clean water to over 18,991 households, directly improving the lives of thousands of families in, Lilongwe, Dedza, Kasungu, Ntchisi, Mchinji, Dowa, Phalombe, Balaka, Mzimba and Nkhotakota.

Our mission extends beyond the mechanical act of drilling. We are striving to create a “waterborne-free” environment where children can grow up healthy, schools can flourish, and farmers can sustain their livelihoods without the constant shadow of illness.

We believe that a healthy Malawi is a productive Malawi. By providing the necessary materials and infrastructure today, we are securing a safer, more resilient tomorrow for the entire nation. Join us as we continue to flow hope into the hearts of our communities.
